In an earlier post I informed you that I am using Roger Fredericks program Secret to Golf Swing Flexibility and that I would discuss several aspects of the program in my next and future post. The statement stretching is not stretching unless it’s done right remains true. However, in Roger Frederick’s program you’re taught the right way to stretch. In the introduction Roger Frederick’s program, Roger describes the elements of successful stretching. One breathing which I will discuss shortly, two working all the major muscle groups and third consistency! Proper Breathing is the key method to getting oxygen to the muscles and relaxing it making the muscle flexible. Therefore, it’s important that one learns how to breathe properly to aid you during your stretching exercise. Stretching is about relaxing muscles and increasing its flexibility. The type of breathing is sometime called deep breathing or breathing from the diaphragm as opposed to shallow of breathing from the chest. How does one develop a habit of deep breathing? Deep breathing is something that little babies and small children do naturally that is breathing from their diaphragm. While breathing from the diaphragm, it is important to inhale through the nostrils the best air filtering system we have. People who train in yoga and meditation learn how to breathe in this fashion and use the oxygen to relax muscle during exercise and relax the body and mind when meditating. Breathing is also important when you are stretching to increase your flexibility, proper breathing relax the muscle and make it more flexible which in turn increase your mobility! I imagine you’re saying that is interesting! How do I train myself to breathe deeper? Here is a method I use, lie on stomach with your arms and hand stretched out above your head with the palm down clasping your hands one over the other, and pull the hands back placing the forehead on top of the hands. Then you begin to inhale and exhale slowly through your nostril? You will notice that when you inhale your stomach pushes you up and when you exhale you return with this method you will train yourself to breath from the diaphragm in short time. We will talk about the muscle group and consistency in the next post! But don’t just be a bean on a pole get into the action and get Roger Fredericks Secrets to Golf Swing Flexibility and join in the fun and improve your mobility and golf swing! Use the link below….
